Hermione heard her name being called but she thought it was just a dream. Because that voice.. it couldn’t be him. He left and told her he’d never be back. He chose the Dark Lord’s side.
“Hermione!” the voice called.
She opened her eyes wearily, expecting to see nothing but the darkness surrounding her.
And she saw him.
Malfoy.
Malfoy.
Draco.
“Draco,” she whispered, disbelief in her voice.
“Hermione, you have to run. They found Weasley with your wand. They’re coming. You have to leave,” Draco said, the urgency evident in his voice.
“I — don’t understand,” Hermione said as she motioned to get up.
“You don’t have to. Just leave —and fast,” he told her and stood up to leave.
“Draco, I—” Hermione started to say but was quickly cut off by his booming voice.
“The Mudblood isn’t here! Check the other tents!” he shouted and turned to look at her.
“Hermione, go. And here,” Draco said, pushing something long in her hand and leading her out of the tent.
“Dra—” she started to say but was cut off by his urgent lips. He kissed her like it was the last time, and it probably was.
“I love you, I always have,” he said as he pushed a coin in her hand and her reply was lost in the blur of colors.
When the spinning stopped, she looked at her right hand and found his wand.
